Social Concerns touches the lives of Saint Paul parishioners, the local community and globally. The Social Concerns Ministry is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teaching of the Catholic Church. The church teaches us that we must proclaim the transcendent message of the gospel and help:

• Bring "good news to the poor" in a society where millions lack the necessities of life;
• Bring "liberty to captives" when so many are enslaved by poverty, addiction, ignorance, discrimination, violence, or disabling conditions;
• Bring "new sight to the blind" in a culture where the excessive pursuit of power or pleasure can spiritually blind us to the dignity and rights of others; and
• "set the downtrodden free" in communities where family disintegration, and economic and moral forces leave people without real hope (cf. Lk 4:18).

Outreach
We are committed to serving our parish and community through outreach ministries including:
direct outreach, Gospel of Life, Pastoral Care, Damascus Help (www.damascushelp.org/) and St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP Saint Paul Conference). We are called to reach out to all people with compassion and love.
