Saint Paul Clinic in Honduras
Saint Paul Parish is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to touch the lives of this small community over 2,000 miles away. Through the dedication of a small group of parishioners, and the generosity of this parish, for the past 20 years we have brought much comfort and care to thousands of people who would otherwise have no means of medical attention. This was plainly evident by the overwhelming love and appreciation expressed by those who visited the clinic every day during our stay.
It really doesn’t take much to do a tremendous amount of good. The energy that was created within the community, just by our presence, combined with some capable hands and a little bit of money, was enough to launch several improvement projects that will help preserve and protect the assets of the clinic for years to come. By supporting the clinic, which is also heavily supported by volunteers from the community, we empower them to participate in their own outreach projects within their country.
We are abundantly blessed to have the opportunities and resources available to us. We all know this intellectually, but sometimes it takes a trip like this to help us appreciate that it’s the personal relationships we make that bring lasting happiness and peace. Without realizing it, in a matter of days we fell in love with the people of El Rosario and were awestruck by the genuine appreciation and affection that they had for us. The community of El Rosario has a surprisingly strong bond with all the people of Saint Paul’s Church in Damascus. How fortunate we all are to be in their daily thoughts and prayers!
