The Easter season celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the dead, his victory over death. Christ’s Ascension into heaven is celebrated on the 7th Sunday after Easter (May 29). Also referred to as Eastertide, the Easter season is the period of 50 days, spanning from Easter Sunday (April 17) to Pentecost Sunday (June 5), where Jesus sends the Holy Spirit upon the apostles to spread the Gospel to all nations. Are you an adult baptized Catholic who HAS received the sacrament of First Holy Communion but has NOT yet been confirmed? You are invited to an Information Meeting on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. Classes begin June 28 to guide adults ages 18-99 in preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. This program includes five classes and a half-day Saturday retreat prior to Confirmation. Classes will be led by Lisa Nueslein, Director of Religious Education and Adult Faith Formation. A Biblical Walk Through the Mass - Five in person sessions will be held in the Parish Center beginning the week of May 9. You may sign up to attend either Monday evenings or Tuesday mornings. In Honor of World Day of Prayer for the Sick, Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 PM Friday, February 11, 2022. All are invited, especially those who are physically/emotionally ill and those who care/comfort the sick. February 11 was designated as World Day of Prayer for the Sick by Pope John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. A Synod is a meeting at which we listen to one another and engage in dialogue, journeying together as we draw closer to God as a Church. Spring Walking With Purpose Bible Study, Fearless and Free is a six-lesson Bible study based on the book of Ephesians. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, February 23 – April 6 in the Parish Center. So many of us are wrestling through the reality that life isn’t easy, even when we are doing the right thing. Suffering can slam into us from left field, leaving us reeling. Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. Please consider sponsoring a local family for our Holiday Giving Program. This year we are sponsoring 45 families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Donate an uncooked dinner for one family for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Organize friends, co-workers, teammates, or extended family to sponsor one or more families.
