Lent is the liturgical season of forty days which begins with Ash Wednesday (February 14, 2024) and ends with the celebration of the Paschal Mystery (Easter Triduum). For Saint Paul schedule through Lent, Holy Week, the Easter Season and for links to more information click the picture.
Lent "...is a period of spiritual 'combat' which we must experience alongside Jesus, not with pride and presumption, but using the arms of faith: prayer, listening to the word of God, and penance. In this way we will be able to celebrate Easter in truth, ready to renew the promises of our Baptism." Pope Benedict XVI. For Parish Lenten Resources click the picture.
Stop by our Vocations Tree in the church narthex. It is covered with cards featuring seminarians of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. We invite you to choose one card (or more) and commit to praying a short prayer for that seminarian each day during Lent. Make it a beautiful offering to the Lord this Lent to pray for those whom He calls to give their lives in service of His Church. This is a great family activity.
